INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Netzgrammatik, a new way of looking at German grammar.

Netzgrammatik presents grammar through appealing texts.

Netzgrammatik also offers easy to understand grammar explanations as well as alternative formats of grammar tables.  When using Netzgrammatik participants can browse through topic indexes and select texts addressing specific grammar points, or they can merely pursue intriguing passages and learn along the way.  Either way, utilizing Netzgrammatik can be a fun way to learn, practice or brush up on German grammar skills.

USING NETZGRAMMATIK

Intriguing texts were selected for Netzgrammatik, such as jokes, short narratives, beer songs and fairy tales, in order to catch the attention of and provide an exciting and enjoyable environment for the participant.  When browsing these texts, blue, underlined words are clickable and lead to grammatical explanations of the word in context.  From this page, the participant can either return to the text or go on for further explanation.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

I created Netzgrammatik, with qualitative assistance from Dr. Ruth Sanders and Dr. John M. Jeep, Professors of German at Miami University and technical assistance from Charlotte Wharton, former Director of Miami University's Interactive Language Resource Center, for anyone who is interested in learning, brushing up on or practicing German grammar.  I hope Netzgrammatik will provide an opportunity to comfortably explore a most challenging aspect of the German language.

Respectfully yours,
JOSEF NEUMAYER
