Registration

MCAA Registration was located on the lower level of Irvin Hall in Room 34. In order to pay costs involved with the conference and to keep registration fees reasonable for all, we required all who attend to pay the registration fee. This included students, retired persons, spouses, foreign scholars, and others who wished to take advantage of the annual meeting. Note: your badge was your proof of registration. You must display it to enter all panels and other conference events.

Registration Hours

Friday, October 16, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Saturday, October 17, 7:45 am – 3:00 pm
Sunday, October 18, 8:30 am – 11 am

If you pre-registered for the conference, your name badge was available at the registration desk. Onsite registration was $45 for students and $75 for all others. Payment was accepted in cash or check made out to Miami University.

Parking

Thursday and Friday

Unless you are Miami staff or faculty, you were required to park in one of two campus parking garages, where no permit is required. The hourly rate was $.50/hour with a daily maximum of $5.00 per exit. The lost ticket fee was $5.00.

• The Campus Avenue Garage is located on South Campus Avenue between the Campus Avenue Building and the Recreational Sports Center.
• The North Campus Garage is located underneath the School of Engineering on East High Street with access from Withrow Lane, that runs west off North Patterson Avenue.

Overnight parking between 2:00 am – 6:00 am is not permitted in either garage.

Saturday and Sunday

Free parking permits were available for street parking and faculty parking lots on these two days. If you parked at a meter, coin deposit was required. A parking permit was available at the conference registration table in 34 Irvin Hall.

Refreshments

Stop in Room 30 Irvin Hall throughout the conference for beverages and light snacks.

Computer Lounge

The Interactive Language Resource Center at Miami was open during the day thoughout the conference for those who wanted to check e-mail, surf the web, or needs to use general computing facilities. They are located in Irvin Hall 60 on the lower level near where the registration desk and refreshements will be served. Hours the ILRC will be available:

Sunday, October 18, 8:30 am – 1:30 pm

Transportation

If you needed transportation to the Cincinnati or Dayton airports, Oxford Limousine Service was providing a shuttle at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon. The cost per person was reduced if there were multiple passengers. Check the schedule and rates at the Registration Table in 34 Irvin Hall. You must have reserved your ride by noon on Saturday.
