Typing in foreign languages that use non-Roman character sets present special challenges to computer users. For Arabic students, the easiest way to enter characters is to utilize the Russian Keyboard that comes with Windows. Launch your Word Processing application, such as Microsoft Word, Notepad, or other application in which you wish to use Russian.
In the lower right-hand corner of the task bar, select the Language block and choose Russian.

Click into your document. Any standard Windows font should have Russian characters built into it.
As you type, use the keyboard graphics below to learn where the Russian letters and vowels are located.

You can also bring up the On Screen Keyboard by going to the Start Menu, selecting Programs, then Accessories, then Accessibility. Click on the On-Screen Keyboard application to launch it.
