Character Entry for the Macintosh


.The Macintosh operating system is very flexible and easy to use for people utilizing multiple languages in their work. To gain access to languages other than the typical Roman alphabets, just follow these instructions:

1) Go to the Apple menu in the upper left-hand corner of the computer screen and select System Preferences.

2) Once system preferences is opened, select the International pane.

3) Once the International Pane is opened, select hte Input Menu Tab. Scroll down through the language selections, checking the checkbox next to the languages you with to enable.

4) When finished, close out the International Pane and close System Preferences. You will see a little flag in the menu lists. Select the flag icon and choose the language you wish to type in. For more information about specific languages, see other ILRC help guides.
