STUDY ABROAD
All majors in GREAL are encouraged to study
abroad during their Miami years. Miami University is
affiliated with several programs abroad; basic information
about each of these programs is offered here. In addition
there are numerous other opportunities (check at the
Office of International Education in
216 MacMillan Hall). Information about procedures
regarding application to affiliated programs, academic
course approvals, financial assistance, and informing
Miami of your absence is available at the
International Education Office.
German
Students may elect Miami University's 8-credit summer
program for either second or third-year German; a
two-semester junior year with Miami in Munich, affilliated
with Miami and administered by Wayne State University;
business study in Vienna; or one or two Miami semesters at
Miami's Luxembourg Center.
Russian
Miami University's summer program in Novgorod, Russia,
provides a four-week intensive language
study.
Japanese
A full year program affiliated with Miami University is
available at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan. For
more information, please consult in advance with a
department adviser about courses, transfer of credit, and
admissions requirements. It is important to talk to a Study
Abroad Advisor at the International Education Office if you
are interested in this exchange program. They will
guide you through the application process which must
be done through their office. If you are choosing one
of the Kansai Gaidai's affiliated programs, the
application form and process are slightly different
from the general public.
