GREAL - GREAL Awards
AWARDS FOR STUDENTS OF GREAL

The Gisela Bahr Award is presented annually to a graduating German major who is selected by the faculty as "most outstanding." Criteria of selection include excellent overall academic record and commitment to the study of German language, literature and culture as demonstrated by research projects, study abroad, and leadership in German student activities.

The Marion Lee Miller Award
is made to the student considered the most excellent at each of the four instructional levels (100, 200, 300 and 400).

The Jacques Breitenbucher Scholar-Leader Award
is given every other year to an outstanding female continuing German major, who will be named a Scholar-Leader and live rent-free in a student room in Stoddard Hall.

The Erich Steiniger Memorial Scholarship
is awarded for academic excellence to a continuing German major each year. Awardees are nominated by the faculty and selected by a faculty committee. Awards are presented at the department awards ceremony in May each year.
