The Japanese minor counts as a thematic

JPN 1 Developing Language Skills in Japanese
For students who have completed the first two semesters of
college-level Japanese language or the equivalent. This
sequence develops speaking, listening, reading, and writing
ability using a variety of materials drawn from fiction,
television, film, the Internet, journalism, and memoirs.
The courses draw on computer-assisted materials developed
by Miami faculty for Miami students and are characterized
by small sections and substantial in-class and out-of-class
interaction. Courses may not be taken credit/no-credit and
must be taken in order.
