The Classical Association of the Middle West and South will
award scholarships of $1000 to a limited number of
undergraduate students majoring in Classics at the
sophomore or junior level at a CAMWS college or university.
Nominees are expected to take a minimum of two courses in
Latin or Greek (normally at least one per quarter or
semester) during the junior or senior year in which the
scholarship is held.
Students are to be nominated by the department or program
(no more than two nominations from each institution). Each
nominee will be asked to fill out an application form,
write a brief essay, submit a college or university
transcript, and arrange for two letters of recommendation
from teachers who are members of CAMWS. The POSTMARK
DEADLINE for the coming year's applications will be 1
February 2006.
