The Oxford Rotary Club is accepting applications for
schoalrships to study in a foreign country during the
2005-06 academic year. Applications will be accepted from
students enrolled at Miami University or from students
studying elsewhere whose permanent address is in the Oxford
area. Candidates cannot be a Rotarian or a relative of one.
The scholarship is for one regular academic year (usually
nine months) to study at an institution preferred by
applicants and selected by the Rotary Foundation Trustees.
The Oxford Rotary Club may nominate one person and an
alternate to compete for a Rotary Foundation Academic Year
Ambassadorial Scholarship funded by contributions from
local Rotary Clubs. The scholarship award is to be used for
round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, and reasonable
living expenses up to $25,000 depending on costs at the
assigned institution.
Persons in a bachelor or advanced degree program may apply
for support to pursue additional studies. Applicants must
have completed two years of university or college work when
the scholarship begins. Recipients must study in a country
other than their own, and at an institution at which they
have not studied previously. Applicants whose native
language is different from that of the country in which
they intend to study must demonstrate evidence of ability
to read, speak, and write the host language.
